Accessibility
We want everyone to have a safe and fun day at Funfields.
If you need any support because of injury, disability, or pre-existing medical conditions, please visit us at Guest Services when you arrive – just inside the entrance. Our crew can work with you to create a tailor-made plan for your one-day holiday.
All our paths are wheel-chair accessible (but some of them are steep), and we have accessible bathroom facilities in specific locations. We welcome guide dogs and other accredited service and assistance animals.
Guest Accessibility information
For your own safety, you must be able to meet any ride requirements and maintain the proper riding position to experience some of our attractions. We recommend that guests with cognitive or physical disabilities acquaint themselves with our facilities by:
Observing our park map
Looking into our specific ride requirements found on our website
Contacting Guest Services for more information or clarification
Ultimately, guests must be able to demonstrate a willingness and ability to comply with verbal and written rider requirements.
To maximise the experience of every guest, we encourage an open dialogue between guests and staff. This way, we are able to accommodate and assist guests as required, where possible.
Parking
Accessible parking is available close to our entry gates for those with a Disability Parking Permit. These spaces are clearly marked and as close to the entrance as possible for your convenience. On a busy day, these may be occupied if you arrive later in the day. In this case, we suggest you ask one of our car park attendants for assistance, so you can drop off members of your party closer to the entry gates.
Food at Funfields
The park’s food and beverage outlets offer a variety of food options suitable for various dietary or religious requirements. Our Café and pizza bar, Refresh ice cream shop, and Paradise Palms Beach Club Café and Bar are all wheelchair accessible.
Wheelchairs
All pathways throughout Funfields Themepark are wheelchair accessible. However, it is important to note that with the natural slope of the land, assistance may be required to access the top end of the park. We also offer a limited number of complimentary wheelchairs should you require one. A $100 deposit is required, and we strongly recommend pre-booking with Guest Services.
Though all areas of the park are wheelchair accessible, we are unable to offer special entrance or access points on many rides, due to the manufacture requirements. If you are capable of accessing a ride with assistance, never hesitate to ask one of our team members if a ride is suitable.
All our water-play areas and pools (Amazonia Falls, Birdy Cove, Volcano Beach and Lava Lagoon) have zero-depth entry to allow wheelchair access.
Guide, Hearing and Assistance Dogs
Accredited service animals are welcome in the park; however, they must wear their working vest that identifies their role at all times. They are not permitted on any of our attractions.
Restrooms
Around the park, we have both ambulant toilets and accessible toilets for guests who require wheelchairs. These include accessible showers.
Emergency Scenarios
Staff will always assist guests to designated safe areas in the event of an evacuation. Should any evacuation point be difficult to access, staff members will provide assistance as needed. Staff will provide guidance both visually and verbally when appropriate or as required.
Physical Conditions
Rider requirements are established by the manufacturers of our rides. This means that in some circumstances, there may be attractions that are inaccessible due to safety reasons.
Riders must be able to safely enter and exit the attraction.
Guests must be able to maintain the appropriate riding position through the duration of the ride.
Any prosthetics must not pose a danger to the patron themselves, others, the ride vehicle or the attraction surface (to maintain a safe riding surface for guests).
Guests wearing prosthetic devices may be required to cover any exposed metal with padded material OR remove the prosthetic where possible.
Guests with casts, braces or walking boots may be restricted from riding certain attractions where the cast or brace may keep you from maintaining the proper riding posture, or present a hazard to the Guest or others.
Guests wearing glasses may be asked to remove them prior to entering a ride (See our specific ride requirements).
Cognitive Disabilities
For the safety of all guests, riders must be able to demonstrate a willingness and ability to comply with staff instruction and/or written rider requirements. Due to the variable nature of some of our attractions, this may mean there are rides unsuitable for guests with cognitive disabilities to ride unaccompanied.
Funfields has a responsibility to assess and manage any risks to all staff and guests, however we recognise there is a broad spectrum of cognitive disabilities. Therefore, we encourage open dialogue surrounding such delicate and complicated issues. After all, our aim is to ensure a fun and safe day for as many people as possible.
Hearing Disabilities
Written instructions and visual aids are available at all our attractions.
Carers and Companions
Carers able to present a carer’s card will receive entry at a discounted rate. Carers able to present a companion card will be granted entry free of charge.
Guests entering the park with a carer must be accompanied at all times to ensure your day runs as smoothly and safely as possible.
Pregnancy
Guests who are pregnant may be unable to ride many of our rides. For this reason, we offer discounted ticket prices to account for the reduced capacity to experience all we have to offer.
Guest Stature
Some attractions are designed by manufacturers based on a certain body shape or size. This gives rise to height and weight requirements on our rides to ensure the safety of our guests.
Guests of a larger size may not be accommodated on some attractions as a result of these requirements, but also due to the nature of the safety harness locking mechanisms.
Where weight requirements are strict and scales are required, figures are never displayed to staff or guests. Instead, scales operate on an indicator system that communicates whether a particular rider configuration is eligible or ineligible to ride.
